The 2022 valedictory service of Pacific Comprehensive College took place on Saturday, 2nd July, 2022. It was a day of joy and celebration as parents, grandparents, uncles, aunties and other relatives gathered at the School Multipurpose Hall to celebrate their children/wards as they bade good bye to secondary education.
The principal, Mrs. Ogunsola, in her address, urged the graduands to believe in themselves and shun examination malpractice as they progress in their educational career, thereby upholding the good image of the school.
The chairman, board of trustees of Pacific Schools, Mr. Remigious Omosowon, in his speech, titled ‘‘Grit Matters More than Talent’’ enumerated the importance of Grit to the graduands, stating that Grit is important because it is a driver of achievement and success, independent of and beyond what talent and intelligence contribute.
He also encouraged the graduands to build their Grit by clarifying their goals, discovering their interests, knowing their purpose and practicing optimistic self-talk (making affirmations)
The guest speaker for the day, Engr. Demola Olorunfemi, Chief Lecturer, Department of Agric. Engineering, Lagos State Polytechnic, in his speech, titled ‘‘Career Choice and Innovation’’, advised the graduands to consider their academic strengths, personal qualities and social skills when choosing a career.
Out of the forty-one students in the class of 2022, the head boy of the School, Adeleke Habeebullah, emerged as the Valedictorian with nine A1s in his final examination.
